My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

I'm humbled by the positive responses.

Franconicus, I had to dress up in the stealthy robes of a moderator so that I can better sneak around.

    Kraxis,
Now that you are mod, may I ask you one question?
Why is this corner of the org where everybody is talking about war, blood and death, where nobody thinks of god, where nobody sings gospels, why is it called MONASTERY?

cause in the olden days when someone commited tons of horrid evil bloody crimes when the law comes to get them they could flee to the monestary and become a monk and be abdicated of there crimes...but nothing can stem there violent nature

Because it is devoted to the more refined aspects of knowledge that are to be found in the Total War games. ;)

Excellent choice again. Welcome Kraxis! But then -- you aren't exactly new to the Monastery, and most Monastery dwellers aren't new to you. May your hours be spent upholding the dignity of our robes, tickling the curiosity of newcomers to the point of making them stay, and gently but firmly expelling any false pilgrims and other intruders from our halls and corridors.

Oh, and hopefully we will see Gregoshi every now and then. He was a very worthy moderator. Hope he hasn't taken the vow of silence...
