Thread: Checking on Faction Behaviour

    Default Checking on Faction Behaviour

When a new campaign starts, default faction behaviours are set in the startpos files, however as the campaign progresses, the behaviours of the factions change, say from Catholic Peaceful to Catholic expansionist, etc.

Is there a way to check the current status of a faction's behaviour during a campaign? I am trying to correlate various AI actions with their current "set" behaviour.

    Thanks in advance!

You can open them, I could never make head nor tail of them though.

I wasn't aware that the faction behaviours were altered during the game. Do you have any idea how these are infuenced? I'd be curious if there was a way your actions could influence another faction in that manner.

What do you use to open the savegame files (they're in .cpg format)? Notepad/Word kinda program? I tried that but it's just a bunch of weird characters.

The faction behaviours change depending on the situation that a faction is in, a faction may start the game Catholic Expansionist but end up as Poverty Stricken or Desperate Defense if money runs out or if it's cornered into one province. It just would be nice to see that in a log file of some sort

Yeah I'm an idiot. I knew about the Desperate defense etc charecteristics, it's obvious that they have to change now that I think of it. Silly me.
Yeah, I just used notepad. There are some charecters that are in English IIRC? Faction names and the like, it was the accompanying script I couldn't decipher.

I've also noticed that the Almohads who are set as muslim peaceful (or something like that) end up owning Africa and Spain.
