Don't the Republicans know when to cut and run? From The Hill:

“Duke Cunningham is a hero,” DeLay said during a press briefing Tuesday. “He is an honorable man of high integrity.”

Any theories as to why a bigwig would go out on a limb for a member of his party who has just been convicted of the biggest bribery case in the last 25 years? Anyone? Anyone?
