I'm at a computer room, and a mouse ran on my desk a few minutes ago. I was a bit surprised because I saw this grey object flash by. I didn't report it because I'm afraid someone would kill it. I have my sandals on, and I hope the rat doesn't bite my feet.

Don't be afraid. The mouse is probably terrified of you.
It certainly won't bite you and it's no rat if it's smaller
than your hand. Feed it some peanuts the next time.
The mouse will apreciate it.
