I've always thought this forum could use a favorite screenshots thread, for members to put up their favorite or best game screens, or great vistas of armies engaged.

So I'll start by posting one that had me grinning (note the casualties inflicted by my cav units) taken by camera of the spur of the moment.

And it sure beats those cheesy smiley threads in the OT !

Wow, a Yari Calvary with a 255 kill! I could never achieve this kind of kill rate with my guys on horses.

Neither can I. Even when running down routing troops my cavalry still manage to get themselves slaughtered, patch or no patch.

I'm just as impressed by the warrior monk and nodachi kills in that screen shot. What were they doing? Sitting around picnicing while the fancy-pants horse boys did all the work?

My personal best for a single cav is 336 kills. 200 kills is not uncommon but is not a thing you can plan for.

    Good Stuff.

My YC (followed by HC) get most of my kills too

It seems there are two distinct styles for players.

    1/ The ND, WM crew,
    2/ The cav crazies.

I just wanted to bump this thread up so the screenshot could be seen again!

The reason the cav got more kills than the monks and no-dachi was simply that they got to enemy first - I was beating up on remnants of deceased Daimyo whose army was comprised mostly of archers.

How do you get the screen shot?

is it the old PrintScrn button?

The best scene i've witnessed is:
    I was Takada.
The province was musashi and it was the first battle for the campain. The bridge assult had all but whiped out my melee units (routing the remainers) and i had caused a rout in Hojo's army.
Both Daimyo's units were reduced to one daimyo and no guards.

I charged to finish off the routers but by the time i had poured over the bridge Hojo had rallyed very close to his edge.

My daimyo reached his daimyo and for about 30 seconds they went mano a mano, one on one, head to head.
They went back and forth along half the width of the battle field (left to right) swords clashing and sparks flying.
My army reach the fray and watched these two greats go at one another. (I had no arrows left for any CA or SA unit and no melee units left - but neither did he).

Eventually i did the Dis-honourable (but tactically sound) thing and ordered my missile units to engage hand to hand and poor Hojo got mobbed by a couple of hundred CAs and SAs and died.

I'm a little interested as to how the melee calcs are resolved such that two daimyos can not hit each other.

Unfortunatly this was an extended action (so no screen shots).
next time i'll take my video cam down to the battle field

why don't we have a competetion for a the most kills inflicted by a single unit in 60 man unit mode rather than 120 units.

these have to be confirmed by a full screenshot.

i am satisfied the screenshots by solypsist and shadowkill were 60 man battles as no unit lost more than 60 guys.

so shadowkill has the record with 257 kills

This is not a screenshot, you may fid it interesting nevertheless. I found the logfile for the Slaughter of Mino I mentioned in the "Most Memorable Experience" thread. Look at this shock regiment:

    Unit Type: Nodachi
    Is General: NO
    Is Daimyo: NO
    Leader Name: Daidoji Narisato
    Kills This Battle: 219
    Losses This Battle: 8

This isn't particularly impressive - sweet ratio, sure, but it was a rout slaughter with 120 man units. However, a significant majority of the unit's men has *no* kills whatsoever - the unit remained well ordered, so the rear guys couldn't get to the action. These are balanced out by:

Soldier Honour Armour Weapon Kills Friendly Kills How Soldier Left Battle

    13 3 0 0 18 0 VICTORIOUS

    97 2 0 0 16 0 VICTORIOUS

    118 3 0 0 20 0 VICTORIOUS

And several more. Some people just have all the luck.

Was this an online game, custom or campaign? How do you record a screenshot? I'd love to post a few of mine. I actually had one AI game where I took 2654 heads and lost 334 defending Shinano in the spring. I'd also like to post a few where I've been reckless, and gotten the shit kicked out of me by the AI.
