Don't know about that one. I've heard that the creatures aren't as fun, but the creatures were the best thing in the original.

Haha, Org nags at me... ok ok ok, I'll post something! Don't bring in the Borg!Hello Crandaeolon it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?
Second for Guild Wars. It's my choice for GOTY, or at least RPG/MMORPG of the year. Except that it isn't really an RPG, or even MMORPG for that matter. More like Hack'n'Slash, but with brains. Or a squad-level tactical fantasy game. Or something.i'd reccomend Guild Wars Personally
It's one of the few games that mostly lives up to the promises and marketing slogans. That blurb about skill is not empty hype, it becomes more and more true as you play the game. However, they should mention that it's teamwork skill as much as individual skill that matters; many people don't like the game because it emphasizes the teamwork aspect so heavily.
I'm also pleased about the direction and support that the game is enjoying. Bugs and imbalances get squashed quickly, and the devs aren't afraid of making even radical changes to game mechanics if there's something to be fixed. Updates are frequent and there's very little, if any, server downtime or lag. Balance is fine; mixed teams are being the most successful ones now (but only if the players are up to par.)
If you have a PS2, Disgaea. Somewhere here recommended it to me, and it is so great that I haven't played anything else. It is the Valhalla of the turn based strategy, incredible depth, too many options and bonusses to throw an xbox360 at. Absolute brilliance that will keep you occupied for 100 hours or more.
Have you heard of the Total War series?

One of the Prince of Persia games; or all three, I saw a pack containing Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and Two Thrones all for 45 euros yesterday. They're all excellent action/platforming games, I particularly like the second one.
I'd advise Fahrenheit too (or Indigo Prophecy as it's known in the US, I think). Great story, great replayability, thus far the friends I've lent it to also like it.
The Knights of the Old Republic games are also very good.

Well, if you swing by the Sony way, look into Shadow of the Colossus. It's a prequel to Ico (might be before your time), and it's a killer game. Every enemy is a boss! It's ridiculous.
Hearts of Iron 2 is a good choice, in my opinion. I bought it myself and although I've uninstalled due to lack of room, I think it's a great strategy game, but it has a huge learning curve.
Also...I recommend anything with zombies.
Actually, the creature's are still good fun (they seem to have more of a personality), it's just that they've pretty much removed trainingthe creature's. It's just a case of moving a slider about. But apart from that, they are still good. But there are some problems with the game. It disagrees with quite alot of hardware combinations, thus stopping you from playing. One major problem is freezing up at a particular place (when you pick the creature) which has happened to me, and trust me, it's no fun. My PC stopped working for half an hour afterwards. But i hear the patch solves that little problem.Originally Posted by Zalmoxis
