    This is absolutely brilliant:

Nice one Prince Roy. (I especially liked the bit about organising a football match with Tibet)

It's an interesting one. There was something on the radio about this a while ago, apparently they make an awful load of money by hosting websites that other countries don't allow within their borders.

I especially liked this part (under the shop link).
No longer do you have to be content being Mr. or Mrs. Average. Now, you can join the silver spoon club without resorting to marriage or inheritance. Yes - you can now become an official Lord, Lady, Baron or Baroness of Sealand.

Who's up for setting up our own .Org nation? I'm sure there are some other abandoned fortresses.

I call Imperator, Caesar, Consul, Tribune, Pater Patriae and Pontifex Maximus!

actually BKS, seriously it's a **** brilliant idea! Wanna start looking around for a fortress? We should split up the world in equal parts and scan one area each. Shouldn't be entirely impossible to find something.

you know if britian ever wanted sovereignty over sealand, all they would ever have to do would be to have a head tax for sealanders visiting britain, a produce tax for food items being exported to sealand, a docking tax for sealand vehicles landing in britain, an inspection tax to make sure said vehicles are safe to enter britain etc. and i'm pretty sure the sealanders will decide they are british after all.

So it is an independent nation that just happens to list the UK as its postal address:

Further information or specific queries may be addressed to the Bureau of Internal Affairs (burint@sealandgov.org) at SEALAND 1001, Sealand Post Bag, IP11 9SZ, UK.

There are quite a few off shore forts but how many are unoccupied I don't know. Nab tower might be a goer http://www.forelands.demon.co.uk/Nab.html though Trinity House would have something to say about it and it IS in territorial waters sadly. Possibly we could drag it a bit further out.

It would be quite easy to find places were you could put together a pretty good claim for sovereignty. Basically anywhere that no one actually lives or uses would be arguable, though, sadly, you would have to go and live there in order to have a better claim than the exisiting nation. Its all to do with claiming sovereignty though effective occupation, a topic our canadian chums will find out all about if the USA ever discovers oil in the arctic archipeligo...

St Kilda http://www.kilda.org.uk/ would be an option, and I gather the houses are still there which would be a help. Probably the occasional visits by the scottish national trust would scupper the claim though. Personally I think we should go the whole hog and claim the Kergulen islands http://www.btinternet.com/~sa_sa/ker...n_islands.html (with the added advantage of war with france) or even Bouvetoya, "the most remote island on the planet" http://www.btinternet.com/~sa_sa/bou...bouvetoya.html

I would be delighted to be appointed ambassador to the United Kingdom were the Org to establish itself in any of these places...

    Apparently so:

Although it appears that no official state recognizes it as being a nation and a sunken ship can hardly be called a country.
