You have to hold those provinces until the next yearly sortation occurs; if I remember correctly, when you click the Glorious Achievement goals button, it explains that your points get tallied up in certain years.
I assume your victories have happened outside those years.

Ok so you mean I have to conquer, say palastine in 1149 to get the points so it carries over to the tallying of 1150.

Is that a vanilla thing Kukrikhan? I know in VI, I get the points immediately upon conquest.

Shoot...nowI have to actually check, instead of speaking off the top of my head. I'll be back.
Edit to add: I double-checked frogbeastegg's MTW Guide: VI has no Glorious Achievement campaign, hence conquest points accrue immediately.

Sorry, didn't work ... I tried capturing palastine with a crusade on the year points were tallied up and it didn't work. I didn't get the points and after I capture the provence the thing saying launch a sucessful crusade in the GA scroll disappears. Please someone explain what I'm doing wrong

Edit: And I captured palastine between 1095 - 1204 so I should get the points!!!

True, but I think Darkhorn meant the Medieval campaign with VI (and not only MTW) installed. After all, you get additional units in the medieval campaign when you install the VI expansion, too.Originally Posted by KukriKhan
And, back to he topic, with VI installed I got the crusade GA points the moment my crusade had conquered the province in question. But I think I´ve read in the Main Hall forum that there´s some issue with GA point accounting where crusades and some other stuff are concerned.
Good point. Let's tap the broader knowledge pool in the Main Hall to try and get a reading on this. Topic moved.
Main Hall guys: give us a hand?

Ciaran was correct. I was speaking of MTW with VI installed. My apologies for not being clearer. So....yes, while playing MTW with VI installed I get GA points the moment the target provinces fortification falls to me. However, this discussion seems to have stirred memories of the past....I seem to remember being frustrated while playing vanilla MTW....I DO believe there may be something to Rythmic's complaint. I think I remember Crusade points not being awarded right away too...if at all. Can anyone else confirm?

As I remember correctly there's a bug in the GA crusader goal. If you want the GA points you have to conquer the province with a crusade, then leave it and take it back when it was reoccupied.
I haven't done it myself but that is what I heard IIRC.

OK, here is the answer. I have tested this several times.![]()
After you originally capture the province you must retreat to the castle or
fortress to get the points. After this I usually use another army
or troops from elsewhere to control the province. Just make sure you have
just the right amount of troops retreating to the castle, so none are wasted
or lost. This works every time and you'll get your points. It gets
easier after the very first province, because after the 1st one you have a
place to retreat your army, leave some in province #2 fort and collect the
points for #2 also. If there are any other questions just let me know.

Was this fixed in VI or is it still there? I cannot remember seeing it on the VI-fix list.Originally Posted by dgfred

I think it was. I have VI and have no problem getting the GA points immediately upon conquest.Originally Posted by Ludens

Yes... I remember this as being an issue in my original vanilla games... and it really annoyedme alot. I mean
alot. Because it took me forever to figure out how to get the points.
