i know, i mean, it's going to be around november-time before i get onto double bass level, i think the first song i'll learn will be either Comfortably numb-Pink Floyd or nothing else Matters-Metallica, as both of them are quite easy.

And joey from Slipknot, although i aint a fan of the band, has to be one of the best modern drummers around

I think a Jazz drummer is twice talented and times and times better at kick drums particularly than those Slipknot BS. I saw one Latin drummer playing some local percussion with his left foot that was progressing on a totally different rhytm.

Speed is not everything. Something being difficult does not mean that it may be any "good". This is not a horse race. And Slipknot screws my ears everytime I hear of them. GAH!

Its not just the speed mate, its all round work rate and ability. Some of his drum solos have been out of this world and i had the pleasure of seeing one at the NEC a couple of years back and it was simply class

Ian, if you dig Rammstein at all, the drumming is simple and good practice. Most songs are a dance beat at 160+BPM. Likewise, ZZ Top is a similar case.

Myself, I can paly guitar, but not well; I only own an acoustic. I played the piano for a few years, and I still retain some of the ability. Also, I own a tin whistle and fiddle around with it every once in a while, but mostly, I do vocals for extreme metal.

Stereophonics first and second albums are very easy but enjoyable to drum to. They have lost the plot now but these albums especially the first one were fantastic
