Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
I haven't played it in years, but still have it. I also have the original USNF. It was an awesome flight sim. I loved it and logged a lot of hours with it. The music was great, and I loved the video for the Ukraine and Vietnam campaign. I don't remember if the Kurile Island campaign had video or not. I made a lot of missions, and was thrilled, when fooling around, I found out I could take off from a US carrier and land on a Russian carrier (or vice versa).I'm not sure if USNF '97 would even work on XP Pro with SP2 anymore.

I loved it as well, expacially the editor, later I played ATF, the only mission editor that comes somewhat close to it is the one of Operation Flashpoint, though it´s more complicated. Well, I couldn´t play it since years and use Strike Fighters: Project 1 for flight simming now, though it lacks the great mission editor.

By the time I got my hands on USNF 97 it was years out of date. Lasted about twelve seconds on my HD.
Now it's 95% IL2-FB+PF and 5% Lock On.
I did have the entire Falcon 3 series of flight sims way back when. Ran them at first on a 286/16 with maybe 1 meg of RAM, no sound card and a B&W screen, flying with the keyboard. By the time I got to run Falcon 3 on a 486/DX2-100, a flightstick and a colour screen, I was hooked forever.

Maybe someone of you could explain me why I couldn´t select several missiles on the russian planes in LOMAC.![]()
Didn´t play it for some time, also had some graphical errors in certain circumstances(GF 6600GT), but being unable to even select radar guided AA-10s somehow ticked me off, couldn´t find a reason anywhere.

It depends on the loadout. There are predefined loadouts in the game. If you wish to make your own, you have to create it and then save it to use it. Could that be it ? It really should be on any standard Su-27 & Mig-29 loadout.

Problem was, it was on the loadout, but during the mission it was always being skipped for some reason, I tried different radar modes and stuff, but it didn´t work. On the SU-25 I had problems of not being able to fire rockets. No problems on American jets IIRC.

I play quite a bit of Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, Online. Good Times (Gotta Join a Clan Though, and actually learn how to fly a plane). I've finally started playing LO:MAC Platinum, it's fun getting a group of 16 or so people and doing Campaigns. I just got done with a week long campaign about a month ago (Logged in a total of 37 Hours, which roughly equates to 6.2 hours a day) as a Georgian MiG-29A Pilot, I generally played escort to Froggies (SU-25). I love MiG-29s, it's a tough sell against the F-15s, or SU-27s in terms of Air-to-Air Capabilities, since both carry more in terms of arms, are far more agile, and can fly without refueling for quite a bit longer than the MiG. But I am a still a rookie. Thankfully two guys in my flight squadron were former MiG-29 Pilots for the German Airforce, and gave me a really good run down of the system. I nearly got shot down twice, and had to break from my squadron, and emergency land at the nearest airbase (There was no way in hell I was going to land it at a civilian airbase though), because the squadron actually calculates the time it would take to transfer the parts and people available from one airbase to another. I would've been stuck waiting around for three days before I could get my plane tuned up and proper for combat. All in all its a fun time, and if you enjoy that stuff, should really get into it.
Oh ya? What do you think of it?Originally Posted by Wazikashi

I had hundreds and hundreds of hours of flying Falcon 3 + add-ons to wet my appetite. Still have all the maps somewhere.
I bought F4 the day it came out. Came with that huge binder manual, Still have that too. I remember upgrading to a 300Mhz and a 16Meg Monster Diamond Video card in anticipation of F4. Have at least a few hundred hours of F4. Wild Weasel missions were a riot in F4. Loved the close in knife fights with Mig-21s and Mig-23s too. Great stuff!
So how does F4-AF compare? I've seen the screens, but I'm wondering how much the eye candy has improved.

Graphically speaking it's an improvement over Vanilla F4. However, there are several hi-res skin packs out there that make it look like an entirely different game. I like F4-AF quite a bit, but at heart it's still just the original F4 with a major overhaul and tweaking, and it's scope is still a little narrow for me. That's why I've been such a LO-MAC Junky lately, but I have to admit, the big advantage F4 has over LO-MAC is also that it is narrower in scope, because each plane in LO-MAC is almost exact to designer specs, you just can't go from mastering a F-15 to jumping into a MiG-29 and expect that they'll perform the same.Originally Posted by Beirut
I like LOMAC, and certainly the eye candy is without equal, but I've never had the great A2A knife fights (guns only) like in F4. The canopy reflections and the feel of the scrap are without equal for jet sims.
F4 has a tension, for me, that LOMAC can't deliver.
