German hostage in Iraq free
Some good news![]()
just in time for christmas....
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown,
The dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb...

Wow, I didn't know they kidnapped people in the north. I thought Kurdistan was safe. Hm?![]()
I thought Kurdistan was safe. Hm?
Safe ? it has been run by terrorists for the past 15 years .![]()
Interesting to note the demands of the kidnappers though isn't it . Stop training the police ..the interior ministry police , now I wonder which of the many terrorist groups has a little problem with the terrorist group that is running the interior ministry and its police![]()
So...did Germany stop training Iraqi police? If so, why? Isn't a greater victory worth more than a single life?
If not (i.e. didn't stop training police), good job and good news?
Why do you hate Freedom?
The US is marching backward to the values of Michael Stivic.
So...did Germany stop training Iraqi police? If so, why?
Yes , the Iraqi government stopped sending them police trainees , as for why , you will have to ask the Iraqis that .
Kaiser, if you think that terrorists can change the German policy - then you do not know Germany at allOriginally Posted by Kaiser of Arabia

German government never made or will made a political compromise because of terroristic pressure. No German Kanzler did it, no Kanzler will ever do this. Maybe you remember that Palestinian terrorists took athletes from Israel as hostiges during the Olympic games at Munich. A very difficult situation for Germany - 30 year after the Holocaust. German authorities tried to free the hostages, and failed. All hostages and most terrorists were killed.
Another example: terrorists kidnapped a plane. They landed at Mogadishu, where a German special task force attacked them and liberated the hostages. This time it was successful.
Back to Iraq. There is little information but a lot of rumours. I think the government did not use the special force because this country is still a den of thieves. Rumours say that the hostage was captured by a criminal group (not political). They sold it to a political group, telling them that she was a German spy. When they found out she was not, they set her free. German government promised to pay money by funding some social projects of that group - hospitals and so....
If this is true then it is good news. Only sad thing is that Iraq is still a playground for political and non political criminals.
But do not think that Germany, because it is not crazy about playing wargames anymore, is not able to deal with criminals.![]()
I just want you to say that again in case you are the victim.Originally Posted by Kaiser of Arabia
