I've always been curious about this game from 2004. Has anyone played it? Was it that different from other RTS games, or fairly standard?

I played the demo. Seemed like an innovative take on Real Time Strategy, and it had style, but although I enjoyed playing it I wasn't quite comfortable enough with the mechanics to buy the real game. I'm actually kind of ashamed to admit this, since I have often wished for more innovation and "thinking outside the box" in game design, so for me to say "I want something innovative... but not that innovative" is a bit stupid.
Come to think of it I saw Perimeter on one of-the low-price labels in HMV a couple of weeks ago, but I was too busy to stop. Maybe I'll pick it up if it's still there. Thanks for reminding me.

I did read in the reviews of the game that you needed a powerful machine to run it well. It came out in 2004, so I think my machine can handle it. I've had a nice run playing old games on a strong PC and maxing out the settings. Acquiring it is a problem, however. I could not find it in my local mega-stores. What is this HMV you speak of?

It might very well be difficult to find it Stateside. Those kind of relatively low-key European PC games often get very limited releases over there, and seldom sell well. It does seem to be available on Amazon, though, and cheaply. I don't know how you feel about buying online, but personally I often find that it's really the only way to get your hands on some of the rarer games.
