    Default Symantec or McAfee?

If I'm about to get the basic package, which is better? I've never used either and figured there'd be some folks here who know a ton about them.

Are you only looking for anti-virus capabilities? 'Cause there's a decent thread on the subject here.

Really need a good boot CD to figure out why I can't reinstall XP. Think it could be a virus. Then after that just a good all around protection program.

    Thanks for teh link too!

McAfee, fast and easy to use.

I have it myself, and am very pleased with it.

Several years ago, I stopped using McAffee. It gave too much problems on my computer. Off course, with the introduction of XP things may have improved, I don't know about that. I am perfectly satified with my Norman virusscan. Never used Symantec though, but I understand a lot of companies do.
