    A huge towel
    A bathrobe of incredible warmth
    A package of razors
    A Snickers bar
    3 Kit Kats
    A DVD collection called "Bent".
And a bottle of 15 year-old Glenfiddich, which is now 3/4 gone. My two friends at dinner helped me out.

But the kids were showered with toys, my woman got her new fancy snowshoes, and all is well.

A 5000 USD hospital bill because my 10 month old son had surgery.
    60 dollars from my inlaws.

All in all, it was a pretty crappy Christmas for me, but at least my son is healthy now.

Ah...clothes...it's something you give for some shy, quiet, rather anti-social young relatives you don't really know or care but is obligated to give gifts to anyway, i.e. me.

I got some clothes (a denim jeans and three sweaters, not counting some I recieved shortly earlier, kinda needed them, so it's not too bad) 30$ (thank the gods! Or may be the one who gave me :P) and that's it, unless you count the new cellphone (quite a good bargain) I got from my dad earlier this week.

Where's my mangas, PC games, and geeky anime DVD's!? I'll even settle for the Narnia book! Or at least (better yet) they could've just gave me Best Buy or Borders or Barnes&Nobles gift cards...or money, for the heck of it!

I don't like this Christmas at all.

    Then again...

I like my new cellphone, a lot.

Oh well. All's well in the world.

Wow, that's rough. I hope the money was well-used, and that your son is now in great health. Good luck! And Merry Christmas, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.

    Kekvitirae,

Sorry you're having a tough time. As long as you kid's ok. The smack in the wallet is really adding insult to injury though. Completely unnecessary and uncivilized.

I'm sure everyone here is aiming their most positive thoughts in your direction. We'll send some goodwill and hopefully some good luck.

Kekvitirae, I am really sorry to hear that. I hope all is well now. That bill sucks, but it's importance is of course infinitesimal compared to the kid's health. There is no greater gift than that. Don't let this spoil your holiday, think of the merry Christmases you will prepare your child in the future!

Count yourself lucky, I had to borrow someone else's razor yesterday because my significant others judged my personal hygiene to be totally insignificant to them. Replace the Glen with Courvoisier, add an empty wallet and some newly-won friends and you can picture my Christmas. Oh, and no Kit Kats, but I discovered a forgotten stash of mini Milky Way bars in an old cupboard which I jealousy kept to myself and managed to guard succesfully against infantile intruders for a day.

Once it was discovered, of course, all resistance was futile and my mini bars were mercilessly assimilated...

    Kekvitirae,

send my wishes and hugs of healing to the little hero. I'm quite familiar with how mothers feel in such a situation. And I'm quite happy to hear all is going well. Keep up the high spirit -lift it up if necessary

ian_of_smeg16, when did Blink 182 popped off so many hits that they could select the greatest among them ?
