Question Do the slingers have the correct sounds?

    I was just wondering..
In other mods with custom slinger units a sound bug occurs; first the archer launch sound plays and then right after the correct slinger launch sound plays.
Is this bug fixed in EB?

I don't know that we've addressed this at all.

Ah don't worry... Slingers are useless anyway... I mean, if you put them in front of your army, the AI always sends an enemy at them and they have to retreat behind your lines, at which point the enemy unit that was sent to hit them also retreats back to his army... So you send them up front again and they repeat the whole process...

You put them behind your lines and they kill your men... Plus they do almost no damage to stationary units unless they are shield-less... Although i still keep one or two units in my army just to be a bit realistic like... So yes get that fixed.

They're not useless in RTW, and much less in real history. Even if only for the fact that the better slingers would be able to outrange archers.

No missle unit was useless in vanilla RTW... Everything was certainly overpowered... Then in RTR every missle unit was underpowered and useless... I don't think they got it right anyway... Other opinions on that are welcome obviously.

A sling can outrange a bow? I never knew that...

They weren't useless in RTR, though they're indeed weaker (the last 6.3 version upped them somewhat again)
Javelin units were actually more powerful then they were in the vanilla game, and can now be used to counter heavy infantry. Archers still do a good job at picking off javelineers, other archers, all but the most heavily armoured cavalry and off course elephants.

IIRC they did in this era at least.

Depends on the bow and the sling ammo. A sling with lead ammo could outrange just about anything though.
