I like the Aedui, but, y'know, minor-city settlement sizes only.
I think I'll stick with the Ptolemies. They have nice, pretty units. And Alexandria! What more of a bitchin' party town do you need than Alexandria?

I can't really say yet, since this is a beta and not all the factions are complete, but as it stands now I'd have to say I have a soft spot for the Aedui, I am however DYING to see the Germanic faction touched up a bit as it seems rather unpolished/unfinished at the moment.

Hmmm... Got to say Epeiros, Baktria, Romani, and Koinon Hellenos. Of course "favourites" change sometimes, but these are the ones at the moment. Mostly I enjoy playing "Hellenic or Roman" factions more than "Barbarians".

Karthadastim are great, they have a super starting position really, loads of Mnai potential, and therefore plenty of mercs to recruit. However it's best to bump off Epieros and Rome straight away, because they become severe headaches later on. Sadly their settlements consist of a single barbarain male population, but thats the price you pay. Also the casse are muy bien, if you like an easy campaign with not many settlements to conquer. (Perhaps extend their victory conditions EB peeps?)

Right NOW: Baktria. But this changes just about every time I start another faction. Pontos was my close second. I don't know why. Probably because you have so many interesting enemies close by.
When I said Death before Dishonour, I meant alphabetically.

Oh this is not an easy choice. Based on starting position, economy, unit variation etc I voted KH. However I do like the Bactrian line-up but they are just too remote for me.
Baktria is overrated. Epeiros was great, Casse better, and Sweboz godly.

Mostly because i had best game ever playing them.
But i also love skins of they phalanx units. They are just amazing.
When i saw them for the first time it was like OMG.
Very interesting faction to play. Good light units Komatai and Flax gays.
Plus phalanx, plus horse archers, plus insanely good Archers with long swords (but they cost a lot, like 450 a turn).
And from what i see in EB forum they will just get better and better in the future, cant wait to play them again.
Celtic province near that gives you celt units.
Lots of neigburs close by, so lots of mideterenian politics going on.
I was allied with Makedons and had few big 3 side battles.
On the north some horse archers armies that can give you a headake.
Basically lots of fun all around.
I advice you to try them, they are GREAT FUN.
That said i played many faction and there wasnt one that i didnt enjoy.
Romani, unlike other mods EB actually made the Romans fun to play, love the Romans in EB.
