    I don't suppose it's possible to have the front rank only fire while the rear ranks of the unit hold fire? For the mods with guns - which don't have a trajectory - the rear ranks firing might mean shooting the front ranks in the back.

    Simply put, no. But the AI friendly fire routines appear to be much better now than from 1.0. Soldiers don't really shoot others in their own unit in the back.

    ER's right. Since 1.0 units will not fire if they will hit another unit in their own group.

    So your problem may be that units past the second rank may not fire at all.
