i think that it is fair enough that the isreali military attacked the terrorist groups' base but they should have at least told the lebanese government and maybe worked with them... and since this group denies the attacks that led to the strike it seems Isreal might just be trying to show the surrounding countries that it means usiness...

Lebanon might have warned the terrorists, as Pakistan warned Osama after Clinton told them missiles were headed for Afghanistan.

since no terrorists died (though two were wounded iirc) that could have been the case but the lebanese government denies anything to do with the terrorists at all

Actually for Israel I would say it is not good... neither as PR with Lebanon as it annoys the new government there, nor as a successful assassination... as no one died.

If you are going to annoy people you might as well be successful at what you do...

Now that is damn funny , and so very true .

I do love the wonderful irony in the opening report where the IDF spokesman complains about violations of the UN resolutions .
I wonder how many complaints the Lebanese government made this month to the UN about Israeli violations of those same resolutions .

hahahhahhahhaha

does anyone really care about the UN or did you just feel like throwing that in for the sake of it?

Thats the irony , Israel complains to the UN when it wants to , just as Lebanon does , and both use the UN resolutions to justify their stance , yet both ignore the UN resolutions when it isn't to their advantage .

you can't use something that doesn't actually do anything...

merely another sign that the UN should be disbanded.

I dont want to bash Israel, but i think they should have warned Libanon before hitting the camps. Not good foreign politics at all.But on the other hand when a terrorist base is discovered there should be a strike, the sooner then better.

I see it as a good thing. You hit them where you find them. Lebanon is responsible for the attacks being launched from its territory. The govt cannot be trusted not to warn the terrorists, nor can it be trusted to cooperate. So why bother to inform them? Wouldn't they almost certainly object? What is to be gained?

No, if Lebanon wants to deal with this by shutting down the terrorists operating from their soil, then the problem will end. If not, then they need to be prepared to accept retaliatory incursions.
