In my Casse campaign I mentioned, I tried this and have played many a fruitful years past my expectations, still playing now actually. Does lowering taxes help lowering rebels appearing? Even though all the towns are happy with vey high taxes, I assume it might still have an affect?
yeha, same here. i'm playing vh/vh with casse (after hearing everyone rave about them, i had to try!)

i've had 4 ctds so far (it's 252 i think), and all of them but one did not duplicate after reload (with script on). one duplicated twice after reload, turn off FOW, and the ctd did not occur. i haven't gone back and tested that CTD more yet, but i have the savegame.

i've conquered only ictis and ynis-mon so far. i've suffered some brutal defeats.. took me three separate assaults and cost me 3 generals over the course of several years. just lost a brutal fight for ratae too, though i didn't lose any generals at least. that battle had about 3000 warriors in it (1600 me v 1400 them), only 600 bloody soldiers walked away! 150 of mine 450 of theirs. but after ratae is done, it looks like smooth sailing through the rest of britain.. though it's going to take me awhile to rebuild my army..
