Thread: Sweboz unit power question.

    Default Sweboz unit power question.

Using the Sweboz faction I can honestly say that I've shoved around the Hellenon faction fairly well, in battles, and I was wondering if the Germanic tribes were really capable of doing this.

Are the Sweboz overpowered? I just find the idea of me going up against the Hellas and winning to be quite a feat.

I mean granted it was in a forest, but a lot of the combat was phalanx vs phalanx, spear weilding guys in a formation against spear weilding guys in a formation, and my Sweboz framemen.

It's not that I don't enjoy winning and its not like the victories came easily, there were a lot of room for error, but Just the fact that the Hellas were armored and only a few of my swordsmen were made me wonder if it was really possible for the Germanic people to win such victories.

Germanics forces could stand up to and defeat heavily armored Celtic and Roman forces, both of which were able to smack around greek forces on more than a few occasions so I would certinly say the Germanics were capable of defeating a greek army. People often seem to get this rather strange notion that the level of technical prowess on the battlefield was decisive in the way it is today, the difference in technical prowess between every group we are representing isn't nearly wide enough to see something like the modern day situation where the American Army towers over everyone else. A technical edge was an important factor, but it certinly didn;t assure victory (not that it really does today either...).

I ofcourse understand this, I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't a bug in the game.

As for the technology side, though the Germanic tribes didn't have the iron really to make lots of helmets and armor and swords, I know they made up for it by making very sharp spear points, and I don't see why these very sharp spears couldn't produce good results if used extremely well.

I just didn't want to see something like " sorry guys, we messed up the unit ballancing for the Sweboz" so I felt I would check.
