Question about gathering resorses.

how do you gather resoces on the main map in single player campain mode such as oil, slaves, glass, wild animals, elephants, ect.?

You don't, once you take possession of a province you automatically utilize them. I do believe that building road and port improvements will help you spread them around your empire more, but other than that I do not believe there is anything else to be done concerning them.

Yeah, what UK said is right. There is no collecting of resources so to speak in the RTS with peasants and workers. Its all done magically by the computer and used for trade purposes only.

Except for slaves.

You get slaves after enslaving a town's population and that resource gets depleted after some turns.

Even though you don't need to "collect" them you do need to generate them by enslaving the settlement.
