well outta curiosity why would the spartans have good armor? jus for lasting longer in a fight? cuz wasnt that 1 of there problems was wearing traditional robes?
I think timeline plays a factor there...one source suggests, if im not mistaken the robes were only for ceremony hence the name "funeral dress" and not used in combat. On the other hand another source suggests that they were, given that they were intentionally red with the purpose of hiding any blood or bleeding wounds a spartan may have incurred as to hide the soldiers current weakness. Such leaves room for further investigation. Ill post more
