    Default the N.E.S

I was looking through my attic yesterday when I found my old N.E.S, the nintendo's first game machine.

And yes with it was super mario bros origonal and 2 controllers...

3 years ago it would be said to be 'crap' and 'useless' and 'old'

but now it is so retro it is now looked on as quite cool. It is surprising how fun the originals were...

anyone else play these pioneering relics?

Ah, the good old NES... Sadly I sold it ten or more years ago when I bought my first PC. Super Mario, Zelda, Castlevania, those names carry memories
And, yes, I still like to play some of the old games. Tetris, for example, is still good for whiling away days as are a couple of old DOS games I´ve still got.

What a classic! I still got the old system with about 30 or so games. I've also got a newer style NES, one where you feed the game through the top like SNES and N64. I've been meaning to hook it up again for the heck of it, but never got around. Boy, the memories that come back from the system abound. The top feeding NES is so much easier than the old one. You don't have to blow in the cartridges or slide them in just right and bang them down.

I probably shouldn't say this, but I have never been able to beat the original Super Mario Bros. It is a curse. I have beat all the other ones (the last SMB game I played was Mario 64). Those hammer guys usually always get me in SMB1. If I do manage to get by them, the hammer koopas do me in.

I haven't looked lately but older stuff like this can fetch some cash sometimes on E-Bay. I joke with my girl all the time that my piles of old games and computer parts will help fund my retirement.

I was an idiot and sold my NES when I was 8 (I wanted a Playstation). But I still remember playing a lot of the games, I even had an original copy of Final Fantasy (in almost Mint Condition). Which can fetch a quite high price nowadays. I think my Favorite Game was Ninja Gaiden (part two was insanely hard). I also played Castlevania 1,2, and 3, as well as Excite Bike.

I still have my NES, and it's still hooked up, along with my SNES and my N64. It still sees use, of course. I will never sell it.

How amazing Castlevania, Metroid, and Zelda were in those days! The first NES games I ever played. I remember this really goofy game I had called Kickle Cubicle.

Whenever a CD takes a bit too long to spin up in my PC, I have this strange urge to take the disc out and blow on it.

Greatest NES game bar none for me was Street Gangs, true brilliance

Unfortunately I was a little young to get hooked on a NES. However I'm not a big Nintendo fan...GameCube wasnt to my liking.

I'm more of a Playstation guy (but I will not be buying the ps3). Unfortunately my playstation broke when my sister accidently trod on it lol. However I did manage to salvage Crash Bandicoot 1/2 (though my fave of the series crash 3 appears to have dissapeared). Even if it is a direct rip of the Mario series (Mario Cart - Crash Team Racing, Mario Party - Crash Bash, Luigi - Coco and the list goes on) itstill provides fun and nostalga when I play them on my PS2 (An advantage the ps series has on Nintendos consoles - backwards compatability).
