I thought units could only die from exhaustion when they were swimming. That happened in a game where the Vandals attacked across a river. Some of their units spent quite a lot of time in the water, and next I see a river filled with floating corpses! Archers didn't shoot them, so the logical explanation is that they got exhausted and drowned.

You had a unit die from exhaustion? Never ever ever ever seen/heard that happening. I have chased enemy infantry round and round even when they have been exhausted when the battle started, but they have never just dropped due to exhaustion.
I'm sure you are sure, but you want to check they had no archers nearby to kill them on auto fire?
Maybe just me, but I thought units would only rout due to unhappiness caused by exhaustion.

Don't mince your words, just tell it how it is.

Pah! Next you'll be saying it's not true that if you watch idle units besieging a settlement for long enough, they start doing Monty Python impressions and making horses hooves sounds with coconuts. You naysayer!Originally Posted by x-dANGEr

i've tested, i started a battle and put all of the army except for a unit of peasants on ai control then ran them solidly for like 25 minutes i think, nothing happened, are you sure it wasnt arrows from settlement towers?
When a unit gets shot by an arrow they sometimes do an animation simular to thatand they were grabbing for their necks you know?

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.
