Default Mining for fun and pleasure

I have mostly played as Sweboz and tried my hand as Pontus tonight. After finally defeating the rebel scum in Ani-Kamah (the first battle against them showed me the effectiveness of Bydirag Baexdzhyntae against my Pantopadoi Phanlangite) I decided to build a mine.

In the description of the mine it says it should give me 200 bucks a turn and I think hmmn....then it takes me 24 turns to get into profit (as the mine costs 4000 and takes 4 turns to build) But when I finished the mine it says in the city managment that I only make 88 bucks a turn from the mine.
This means that it will take me 49 turns to make profit from those blasted mines.....and 4000 bucks is something that people can ill afford in the game.

IMHO I think mines should be a little more valuable as I assaulted Ani-Kamah just to get those mines to supplement my income.

But I am having good time playing as Pontus. I made the mistake of taking a 8 units of Pantopadoi Phanlangite against 4 units of Gaesate and some other troops in Ankyra. Boy did I get spanked My Palangite ran home like crying for their mommy.

Then I got spanked again in the first battle for Ani-Kamah where the Rebels fielded 5 units of Bydirag Baexdzhyntae with bowmen and spearmen to suppliment them. My Phalangite was no match for them and got shot to snailsnot after my javelin throwing horsemen routed.

I must be a masochist but I am having great fun

Indeed. Mines should probably be rare but when you do get 'em, they should be quite worthwhile. It would add a nice strategic aspect to the game.

Plans are afoot to address this, included a replacement of gold and silver with large and small vein precious metals. In the next patch a large vein mine (fully upgraded) will produce about the same income as a large city.

Sounds good. How much would a large city income you're referring to be about?

That sounds good. In the meantime I'll try to find something to nitpick on
