    Default Advice on or off?

    I read the Sweboz gameplay guide and it said you can safely turn advice off because the original RTW advice is not that valid for EB. But then I read a thread which said the Epeiros King asked an Aedui player to do a mission via the advisor.

    What level should advice be set on? Have EB changed the advisor's content (other than using it to activate the EB scripting, which I always do)? Thanks for any... erm... advice!

    Turn Advice Off, when the Advice guy pops up, it is a scripted event.

    The original advisor is entirely separate from the EB advisor, so you're only turning the vanilla advice off when you set the advice level to "No Advice". A lot of this advice may not be applicable anymore.

    You just need to activate the EB advisor by clicking on a settlement when you start a new campaign or load a saved game. He'll pop out and you click his portrait and the "show me how" button.

    Yes, and a big scruffy barbarian mug popping out with a sweet female voice is wierd.

    Speaking of wierd voices.. should the Latin voicemod acctually work? I still hear those annoying "We are the sons of the wolf and the bear!" speeches at the start of every battle, and the Roman generals still sound like hill-billies with mouthes stuffed with potatoe.

    Plus, pre-battle speeches are not affected, and may never be, depending on how many people we get to help with the voice mod.

    I know EB likes presenting things in the historical languages, but I think you can sleep easy over not translating pre-battle speeches. Lots of sentences spoken in Latin would be pretty meaningless to most players. I remember my first university graduation ceremony was all in Latin and it was totally alienating. I was a little envious to find out other universities sometimes have inspirational speeches (in English!).

    It would be nice if we could get the speeches to match to the situation (fighting Ptolemies, say Ptolemies instead of Numidians, or whatever). We'd need some very dedicated voice actors, I guess. And that's if you can replace those files without any problems. I know somebody was trying to do a voice mod for the speeches at TWC and didn't seem to have much luck.
