Default Slight problem with running Rome TW

    Hi folks

First of all, Im not quite sure if this is smart thing to do and Im propably going to get banned, but I try. And please, reade the whole post before getting angry on me.

Here we go. So I bought Rome TW long ago and BI about two or more months ago. So I have the real copies of them both, but the thing is that the game recognizes the virtual drive im using (but Im not using any rome images). Okay, so I had to disable it and remove virtual drives but the game still notices these. So after long fighting I had to crack it. Some other games do this too. I think it's really nasty against those who really buy the game.

So the question here is, that does the game "recognize" the virtual drive if I completely destroy the program that uses virtual drives? I wouldn't like to see that problem of reinstalling If it doesn't work. I've heard horrorstories of games that "recongnize" virtual drives even if they have never been even installed.

Don't think of me that Im a piratecopy user. I buy all my games and I wouldn't ask you if I had illegal copy. I just love this game and It's propably one of the best games I have ever played.

Hello Andy Shadows Tervetuloa...welcome to the Org

The trouble is that so-called virtual drives software defeats lawful copy-protection encoding on CD/DVD's. As you point out, many games now recognize the presence of such emulation software, and will refuse to install until such software is removed completely from the machine (including the registry). If you have removed that software from your machine, I suggest googling "registry cleaner" to assist you in clearing out the debris left behind - then re-attempt the game install.

According to the forum rules here, that is as far as I can go in assisting you, and I'm obliged to close this thread.

Good Luck - and again: welcome to the Org
