    Default Disillusioned populace

How bad really is a disillusioned populace in game terms? When I set the taxes to auto, the highest it goes is until the blue face. When I'm handling the taxes, I usually try not to go beyond yellow, or content face. Is it worth having a disillusioned nation so I can get that bit of extra money to fund the war? What are the drawbacks, if any?

Slower population growth, and they can rebel if the face turns red.

Nothing much to worry about, really. You should try to keep pop growth as big as possible in the beginning of the game, though, so you have enough manpower to upgrade your cities and reinforce your armies.

That's it? Wonderful. I'm playing on normal unit sizes and pretty late into the game, 219 B.C. so populations are pretty good at the moment. In fact, some cities are overpopulated. Wish there was a way to deport certain amounts from cities you already control. Make for some bad traits, I tell you what.

Hmm, what are some traits you're getting from having too many people? I could see having 50,000+ treasury, or some of the more decadant buildings.

Ah! the Generals! they are numerous, but not good for much (especially if they're Languorous)!

Well i don't think it's city population that is giving your generals bad traits... Apart from the family members i start with at the begginning of a campaign i've yet to get a general who comes of age or is adopted have a single good trait... Or develope any for that matter... Every general after the starting ones are usually dull/uncharismatic/vigorous idiots who eventually just get so many bad traits that i have to send them to retard camp to rot and die. (Fort in which i send all the useless generals)

Don't think I'm gettin any traits related to population... the only thing is that it stops growing or recedes, doesn't really affect the governor, if any is present. Not sure what you're saying about the treasury and buildlings though...

I think we're both a little confused here... let's just forget about the whole thing and start over shall we?
