Seems that ol' 'two jabs' has been leaching off all us working class folks. This is why I despise the Labour party in the UK. Hypocrites one and all. Sucking the lifeblood from the working classes.

The report has emerged as Prescott comes under increasing pressure to start paying council tax on his grace and favour government apartment in Admiralty House, London. The Sunday Times revealed last month that Prescott was not required to pay council tax out of his own pocket on any of his three homes.

Ladies and Gentlemen I present the modern face of socialism. This is the same man who runs two top end Jaguar cars. IIRC several ex-Ministers are still living in the lap of luxury, curtesy of moi and my fellow tax payers.

The hypocricy is your own , as this applies to government officials of all parties , why do you only focus on Labour ?

I don't think you've ever actually tried living on the dole.

Besides that, it always amuses me when people complain about supposed benefit fraud, which really amounts to peanuts in the grand scheme of things, whilst simultaneously ignoring the much greater waste of tax payers money from corporate crime, tax evasion, etc.

Unemployed people and single mothers are easier targets, I suppose.

Hmm...something to do with his political ideology I suspect. The Tories believe in meritocracy whilst these 'socialists' believe in re-distribution of wealth. So before characters like Prescott start sermonizing, perhaps they should practice what they preach. Hypocrite.

Just because those on the left have leftish opinions, don't think that they support all politicians on the left (especially not New Labour ones).

Since when has new Labour been Socialist ?
The Tories believe in stuffing as much money into their own pockets as they can manage , new Labour is just the same , but with a different name .
So condemn both or condemn neither .

Still, I quite like him because he's a Northern politician and he is firmly at the left of New Labour. A lot of criticism made of him is blown out of all proportion. Many MPs who have residences in the North are allowed to take tax-empt second homes in the capital for obvious reasons. The people who criticise him for not taking public transport despite being an the advocate of public transport himself are clearly not thinking straight. You want the deputy commander-in-chief of the United Kingdom, one of the most powerful nations in the world to take the bus to work everyday? Why don't you just paint a bullseye on his head?
