Default Running EB in a smaller window?

Is it possible? I'd like to be able to run EB on the small window so that at the same time i can talk on messenger and do other things without minimizing the game which takes a while to come back on.

if you think it's slow now....

but I think it will be a graphic card issue, and I've never heard about anyone running it in a window rather than full screen, so I doubt rtw supports being run like that. I can't see anything about it in the prefrences file so probably not.

I actually did that by mistake. The default EB icon comes with a command line already in it, I forgot what exactly, but if you haven't deleted it it should still work. I think all you have to do now is set the resolution to 800x600 and instead of showing it fullscreen with that setting, it'll be in window mode.

To eliminate the load time when you unminimize RTW, right click on your preferred shortcut and select properties. At the end of the "target" line, add "-ne" (without quotes, of course) after "-nm -show_err". It'll still run in full screen, but you should be able to alt+tab to messenger windows with much less inconvenience.
Oh, and also the Roman and Seleucid flags seem to be switched.

That's what I heard elsewhere as well, but actually I couldn't minimize the screen at all with the -ne line and have no problems without the line. But that's the line necessary to make it windowed mode in 800x600.

When it was in window mode? I can't really recall, I kind of tripped out 'cause I didn't know what was going on and I was really anxious to play EB . So I just quickly exited and tried to "fix" it.

Erm... you edited your post before my reply was posted, so perhaps I should clarify that the question was if the graphics were worse, more or less.
