I don't know that it happens so much anymore, but does anybody else remember the really early days when every yahoo and his brother had their own webpage that they plastered everywhere? Myself included. I actually found mine not too long ago, which doesn't speak so highly for the custodial capabilities of the IT department at the University of Connecticut (I graduated and left my job in 1996).
At that time, I apparently thought the entire world would not be able to live through the night without my list of cool links, to among other things: the band Concrete Blonde and the movie "7". Don't get me wrong, these were pretty cool cultural icons, but who did I think I was, the online Roger Ebert?
The other funny thing... I was absolutely and utterly convinced at that time that by now, actually by 2001, somebody would have found a way to exert mind control by webpage material.![]()
