    Default Creating Campaign...

    http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/Rt...atcivilwar.txt

I have just created this using the TiME editor...and I can't get it to start up at all. Could a more experienced modder please take a look at this file and perhaps tell me if I've done anything wrong, and how I can fix it? It's supposed to be before the Roman Civil War, around 60 BC...so if anyone could PLEASE help with this, I'd be very grateful. Cheers!

Are you using show_err (link in my sig)? Show_err is pretty good at finding problems in descr_strat.

That is, if descr_strat is causing the problem, of course. The TiME editor, according to what I´ve read, isn´t quite finished nor bug-free, so it may be causing troubles by messing up other files as well.

TIME editor corrupts : 'descr_mercenaries.txt', 'descr_regions.txt' and 'descr_regions_and_settlement_lookup.txt' in the campaign folder. If you have a modified genealogy tree (historical characters, etc...), TIME editor corrupts fraquently this tree also...
I have made campaigns with TIME, this is my method :
    - First, I make a copy of mercenaries, regions, etc... .
    - I use TIME for editing and make the campaign, I put characters (named or generals) on the map without genealogy or record.
    - I save, ans I reinstall the three saved files.
    - I open 'descr_strat.txt' and I make manually my 'tree' and characters records.
I utilise show_err for testing. I make modifications one by one. When I reopen the campaign with TIME, for changes, I ever save the three files and the 'descr_strat.txt' (for to save the 'tree').
Ah, also, I make a copy of 'data\text\xxx_regions_and_settlement_name.txt' (xxx is the name of the campaign), every time, and I reinstall this copy after modifications.
Also, if you use RTW 1.3 or 1.5, every time, you must manually put in the 'descr_strat.txt' :
    - brigand_spawn_value xx
    pirate_spawn_value 2xx (after date)
    - superfaction romans_senate for julii, brutii and scipii (if you want)
    - Diplomacy section, at end of 'descr_strat.txt'.
I hope to help you with this.
Excuse my english, I read very well, but writing is another thing ...

Thanks for all your suggestions! I now have a working Civil War campaign that I'm tweaking for fine points :) Perhaps I'll release it onto the org, for vanilla 1.5!

    Hmm...
    I have another problem.

I've added some temples to Roman cities to increase their loyalties, but I can't even get the campaign to start up again.

I have uploaded the descr_strat to the org, so if somebody could PLEASE take a look at it and see if you can find what's wrong with it?

The problem is that I can get to the faction selection menu, but when I click the arrow to play, it just crashes. No show_err report or anything.

Here is the link the file to look at and try to debug.

The Problem has been fixed. It seemed there was an error with the army of Gaius Julius...

Now I am experiencing no problems, I have made backups, and I am tweaking the campaign. I shall make a thread when it is released. I'll use this thread for further questions if there are any.
