Is is possible to make other factions mercenary units available to other factions just by typing the new faction name into the EDU.txt,or is it more
complicated than that?![]()

what in custom battle??? yeh all you have to do is add the faction name (with a comma) and make sure it doesn't have a no_custom part near the top and it should be available for custom battles![]()
Sorry, I should have said in the campaign game.
hmm. i dont really know that but on ownership in EDU you could change it so for instance only julii or whatever has them....
good luck![]()
Hey, Im back
There's no "faction specific" mercs in the campaign. Mercs in the campaign game are governed by the \Data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_mercenaries.txt, which basically rules what mercs pop up where, how often, with how much exp, and so on. That's the one you want to tweak (about the only way I know to get the Yubtsebs for example).
"Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

I concur with Watchman. In the campaign game, all mercenaries are available to all factions. This is an aspect of the mercenary_unit attribute in edu. The other factions listed in the ownership line just allow them to use the merc in custom battles as well.
