Because we haven't made it. Anyone who wants to write descriptions for buildings and what not that do not have them (and are willing to do the research), go ahead and take a crack at it. If we like it, we'll include it.

Recruitment areas that need to be addressed by more units:

Southern Italy:

Southern Italy will eventually have Italian units. Bruttians, Lucanians, Samnites et al. We know that the Romans can't recruit natives there yet, and we're working hard to address it.

Epirus:

The provinces north of epirus (Illyria and Noricum) will eventually have their own native units as well, Illyrians, Paionians, and Noricenes, for Epirus to recruit. Have patience. I need to find folks to skin said units. Until that happens, we can't add them :-)

If you want to ask a specific question regarding the recruitment or other incompleteness regarding the beta, I'll add it to this post, and then delete your reply (so that the thread doesn't become clogged).

Spartans:

We will have Spartan Hoplites! Don't despair! They won't be overpowered or 500 B.C.-ish, but they'll be there!

There will be balearic troops, there will be lusitanians (the iberian faction could be called the lusato/iberian faction, honestly... there will be a lot).

Cretans will be there, Rhodian slingers might be (but probably). There will be no camel units. Camel riders are rare, as rare as flaming pigs. There is some argument whether camel-riders even rode them into battle. Bedouins, for example, often rode camels to battle, but then switched to horses for the battle itself.

Yes, there will be a native Sardinian.

Is the recruitment system for Carthage also WIP? Because in some of their conquered provinces you're only able to recruit Iberian Velites (even with a MIC 5). Same thing with some of their starting provinces, Carali and Aleria I think (I forgot the EB names).

Also, I think the recruitment system for Baktria needs some fixes too because you're unable to recruit cathapracts in their homeland provinces but you can train them in Syracuse for instance.

Everything thing is WIP, that's why it's a beta.

Most of those units will go in, probably not a camel unit though, they were only used very rarely and take up a lot of model slots for something that wasn't even heavily used by the Arabian nomads. Most often the Camel would be ridden to battle and in retreat but a horse would be used for actual combat.

What happened to the Chalkaspidai? They were previewed but they aren't in the open beta.... Admittingly, at least I can't find them in custom battle...
