I looked at this site yesterday and man deos this game look awsome for MP.
Hero mode is revolutionary, the sea combat is impressive as are the graphics.
Its not historically accurate but hey who cares, its just a bit of fun.

I have to say that this game has got my MP jiuces burning up!

Their is no demo at the moment and due to dev problems its now expected to be out around FEB.

So what do you think of the eye candy, Hero mode and naval battles. If it's all fully realised that would be awsome.

It seems Stainless Steel has closed down and Midway has put another developer on the project. Never a good sign.

I was watching E4 in the UK tonight and an advert came on for this game. Apparently there will be a demo in the next issue of PC Gamer and the game will be released in June 2006.

In Rise & Fall, one Persian hero, Sargon, is actually an Assyrian who annexed the region of Parsuash where the Persians originate. The other hero, Nebuchadnezzar I, was the ruler of Babylonia, also later assumed by Cyrus under the Persian Empire. Their military exploits are legion, however - Sargon having united, under Assyria, much of what would later become Persia; and Nebuchadnezzar defeating the Elamites to build Babylonia.


Yeah, this was under their "history" section, explaining the history of the two Persian heroes, so... just... fair warning.

Demo is pretty good fun... The graphics are a little dated but the demo map is pretty big and there is lots going on...

The RTS/FPS crossover is a good laugh but needs to be better balanced (maybe the demo level is an easy one) as it is pretty easy to leave you army behind and proceed in Hero mode to take the enemy out single handed.

One nice feature of hero mode is still being able to command nearbt troops in a limited way as you can tell them to Stop, Follow or Charge...

It is far more Age of Empires than it is Rome Total War in style...
