In my current campaign (MTW:VI:XL Cumans Early/Hard) I had my assumptions shaken once again. I always thought it was necessary for a province to have a port to be invaded, and for there to be an enemy's ship present in the adjacent waters.
Imagine my surprise then, when an Almohad jihad arrived in my province of Crimea. No port, and the only ship in the Black Sea was Egyptian, with whom the Almos were at war. Indeed, there were no Almohad ships anywhere to be seen. The moors were still confined to North Africa. The jihad, bound for Cordoba (boy were they lost) was fairly puny and immediately attacked the province, which was lightly defended.
I managed to get rid of them when they invaded Levidia, but how did they arrive? Is this a feature of Jihads, a wrong assumption on my part or a case for the Fortean Times?![]()
