I thought the idea was when a guy called his girlfriend - to sit there and listen to all the crappy things that happened to her in the day and then earn brownie points by telling her everything'l be fine and that you love her.. I wouldn't dare talk about my hard days conquering on the phone to mine simply because i know she wouldn't care... Although when she comes to stay with me for a few months in june and starts playing the game herself she might find she likes it... And maybe THEN i could talk on the phone about my hard days conquest...

GAH! Where do you find girlfriends like that?

Most girls usually like to talk 25 hours a day about their own extreme problems (like "OMG I ran out of lipstick today and had to walk around an entire day without it, OMG it was SOOO embarrasing") and glorious achievements in their everyday life (like running 50 meters to catch a bus at the last second or similar), and don't seem to care if the man replies or not (well, after 15 minutes of silence they sometimes put up an angry face and the man wakes up and says "yeah I agree" and then they continue talking again with a happy face).

I don't know how you did it bro, but getting a girl to not only LISTEN to what you want to say, but also enjoy it, takes skills
    Under construction...

You...haven't dated much, have you? Shockingly enough women run the same gamut of personality types as men do.

My wife was not interested in this game at all until she saw me fighting with the Gaesatae. ... I haven't decided if this new interest is a good thing, but at least I get to play more.

But in different proportions. There's a reason stereotypes exist, and it's because they're true.

I've had the good sense not to mention it to anyone I know in RL. But that might have poor side effects though. I somehow am quite sure I'll be talking about it to a shrink one day when I'm trying to explain what happened to me.

My girl friend shows no interest in EB, and I don't really force it on her. We get off work/College, eat dinner, hang out for a bit and I play EB until 3:00 AM and nobody is any the wiser.

Yeah, because all EB players are computer nerds, right?

Stereotypes are generalizations, and when you generalize, you're wrong.

EB players are disproportionately history and computer nerds, definitely. I'm sure a computer nerd, I wrote an IRC bot. You don't get much more nerdy than that.

Generalizations are not absolutes. They're . . . generalizations. As in, they aren't true for everyone, but they're true disproportionately.

Let us reexamine LegioXXXUlpiaVictrix's original statement:
Most girls usually like to talk 25 hours a day about their own extreme problems (like "OMG I ran out of lipstick today and had to walk around an entire day without it, OMG it was SOOO embarrasing") and glorious achievements in their everyday life (like running 50 meters to catch a bus at the last second or similar), and don't seem to care if the man replies or not (well, after 15 minutes of silence they sometimes put up an angry face and the man wakes up and says "yeah I agree" and then they continue talking again with a happy face).
Clearly hyperbolic, but disregarding that, it essentially states only that girls like to talk about a lot of things that guys would view as trivial. This is, in general, patently true. Women talk about tons of things like makeup, furniture arrangement, how to dress, etc., that men generally care a lot less about. Obviously there are many women who don't care about those things, and many men who do, but that's why these are only true in general.
