Talking about downloading, how is System Shock 2 doing? I may have to kill you if you haven't tried it by now to restore the ballance.

Um, err, eee, ahhh, haven't quite tried it yet.... been meaning to...

Got seriously distracted by SW Battlefront II and have lately been reminded of the joys of flight simming... The way it usually goes with me is I get really interested in a game, but before I actually get my hands on it, or get the opportunity to download it, my imagination and interest has moved on to something else. However, the bright side of this is that sooner or later my mood always comes around to the original game and there it is, waiting patiently to be played.

Anytime a developer talks about how many missions a game has, I get turned off. I want a dynamic campaign for every sim I play. I don’t want to replay the same missions over and over. Panzer Leader was a good game except for the missions, which were too few and unvarying.

The game looks to be very action oriented, just as I would expect a console game to be. One of the trailers for Panzer Elite Action has a T34 tracking and firing the main gun at aircraft from a 3rd person perspective. That is arcade action for sure. The tanks in the other trailers were all traveling at high speed throughout the engagement, firing on the move. This was impossible in WWII if you expected to hit anything.

I played the Panzer Elite Action demo and it is crap, pretty mind you, but crap. If you have played the Call of Duty/MOH tank missions then you know what this will be like. Its just a tank shooter and only marginally better than the god awful WWII Tank Commander that came out just before xmas. Its not a WWII tank simulator, it has no interior views or alternative crew positions and it certainly isn't Panzer Elite upgraded - no tactics needed, point/shoot/kill/repeat.

I haven't been able to get access to high speed to download the demo or trailers efficiently- sorry about that, I could have saved you guys the trouble. It sounds horrible. Which is pretty stupid- for just a little more effort the developers could have produced a decent sim which actually would have sold well.
