    Default Police raid Big Brother

    You couldn't make it up.
Police have seized a "gorilla coat" belonging to Celebrity Big Brother contestant Pete Burns.

Officers from the Hertfordshire Constabulary took the coat from the Big Brother house on Thursday after a number of complaints from viewers.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "The coat will now be tested."

Last week a government minister warned Burns could face jail for wearing a gorilla fur. Owning a gorilla skin without a permit is illegal in the UK.

    amen.

I really don't know why people like the programm and watch it, don't people just see that the contestants are just people who really need attention so badly they'd even humiliate themselves on national television ?

I'm surprised Rodman went in there, i like the fella but to go in this programme he must have lost the plot. Barrymore needs a serious beating, and is it just me or is he a spiting image of Woody out of Toy story?:

    Barrymore:

    Woody:

The only difference is that Woody keeps his wood to himself and stays away from swimming pools (No one outside of Britain will get that, so don't bother asking mates!) and plus barrymores a mott

I loathe this Tv show with a passion.

Reality TV has reached its end but the tv companies still carry on because of the sad phone revenue.

Sad to see so many failed celebs screaming.
"I WAS a celebrity, GET me IN there!"

I hope the guy gets punished for that coat.

Is it just me or are the police being morons? The coat in question is black and sandy coloured with very long hairs. If that came from a gorilla, I'm Jimmy Saville.

And has anyone ever heard of a gorilla coat anyway?

I suspect if Pete Burns knew the effect of his wind-up, he'd be roaring with laughter.

    Hey jimmy
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Uhm ... isn't it quite normal that purchasing skins or other parts of certain endangered species is illegal?

Maybe it came from a showbiz wannabe gorilla with extensions and a bleach job? Ha, you might be clever, Simon, but you didn't think of that, did you?

There IS something disarmingly simple-minded about Plod though isn't there? Lets hope Pete Burns doesn't claim to be Lord Lucan, every copper within 50 miles would be on set in minutes.

Apparently, the coat was from Colobus monkey or something - presumably not an endangered species.

Nonetheless, as a veggie, I do rather share Jodie Marsh's initial reaction to Pete Burns telling her about the coat - two words, telling him to go procreate (although on reflection, I would not wish him to take it literally).

That's understandable, but having licenses for gorilla coats? That's weird.

True - being a "state-approved-gorilla-coat-wearer" has a somewhat odd touch

I guess those licenses might rather be an exception - perhaps the license generally refers to gorilla skins (not just coats) and could be something that is granted, e.g., for gorilla skins in exhibitions or for skins that are already a bit older (like heirlooms from the great-Grandpa's safari trips
