Neo, sooner or later you're going to realize just as I did that there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.
I do use wedge on some occasions, but not much. As Sasaki sais it's not worth the bother most of the time. In later stages of battle I don't have time to get them back to normal setting and they end up dead. I prefer using a long line, but indeed that's less manouverable.

Dam I had no idea. I often wedge charged down hills. I would then even them out. I thought it was good for breaking up a unit. At least from behind it is still good.
