To set a user to 'Ignore' from popup menu

Greetings,

My suggestion is to have the option to set someone to be ignored right away from one of his/her posts in a thread from the popup menu as you click his/her username. It saves time to not go to the username profile to THEN add a person to your ignore list (the middle option). It would allow more efficiency.

Personally I don't have anyone set to ignore, nor do I see the need for it. Moderators will deal with problem posters, spammers and spambots so IMHO it's a useless feature.

Why? The mods are there for a reason, and generally are able to deal with a problem quickly enough.

And, who would you want to ignore, un-ignore, ignore again? What's the point?
And, anyway, loading up the User Profile lets you see the stupidities the user has put on. Then you can ignore him with better reason.

My ignore list was pretty full a couple years ago. Then I emptied it. My way of getting out of trouble involves minimal Backroom affiliation and keeping out of potentially troublesome threads, there and elsewhere.

I admit there are a handful I keep in manual ignore status though. That is, I don't killfile them but most of the time just scroll down whenever I see them.

i have to ignore ichigo when he goes on a link posting spree. And Omanes. That way i think that I helped someone first.

It should be possible. There are some second thoughts though:

-a popup should not be cluttered.
-increases the chance of accidental ignores. Not sure everyone will notice what happened.

lol, no, really. If you find their posts that offensive, why put them on ignore? Why not just ignore them yourself? There MAY be something they say that is interesting and that you won't want to miss. I admit that I have troubles with certain members I deem

:P, but all I do is not read their posts or if I do, don't let it bother me. Are people's posts really that big a deal that people need to use that function? I remember when I went to the Backroom and religions, political ideologies, politician, and posters were being attacked left and right, (you know, ussual Backroom stuff) and I never used it.
