Maybe, I was playing for awhile, still, if that's the only side effect, it's worth it.

    Yes, that would be correct.

Not only that, but I've not seen those generals before with their fancy helmets and what not.

Very simple one this, but I like it - something about those javelin cavalry on the hill-line looks very cinematic

And it's even more impressive if reverse the shot and see it from their perspective:

I call this one "Wrong Place, Wrong Time":

He's part of a big army attacking my city, but he was a unit of one. He took a wrong turn somewhere though, unfortunately for him. Other captions may be submitted.

    edit: from the other direction:

He charged in bravely right toward the strongest unit I had - even though he was "shaken". He hit the spears and it knocked him off his feet, but he courageously got back up,

and tried to draw his tiny spear back to strike, and at that moment about three spears jabbed him and he dropped to the ground.

Poor guy. He wasn't a dying gaul (this is Pergamon), but close I guess. He was a dying Pontic Doryphoros. I'll call him Ted.

I need to write a long and in-depth AAR about Ted and what brought him to this point. Sort of a "prequel" to these four screenshots.

Poor brave Pontus Ted. I think the patch needs to include a small bronze statue celebrating his selfless courage (or stupidity..either would be acceptable) somewhere in Pergamon. The team should be focussing all their energies on this, the CTD's and the 'Who is replacing the Yuezhi' question become insignificant when compared to this one lone warriors sacrifice

I got pictures of Ted's other incarnations! Check these out!

The last standing man in the army charges headlong into 500+ mounted armored archers. Too bad he never made it.

    I'm evil.

This is one poor fellow. He thought he is safe behind the frontlines...

    A heroic death!

Same scene as above, but zoomed out.

That crazy SOB charged my guys. What was I gonna do? There's not exactly a "just stand there and let that one guy jab at you cause he's kinda pathetic" button. What a brave fellow though...

Ok, this is going to sound crazy, but I didn't actually realize that he wasn't one of your guys.

I have the flu, so that's my excuse for not noticing...

When I saw the pictures and read the sentences you wrote, I somehow got the idea that he was your guy and you decided to make him charge the enemy army for heroic and comic effect.

    Sorry about that...

Unfortunately, when it's by and far the best of the two or three units you can train in the nearest three provinces to the full stack of the Ptolemaioi's, that turns out to be the majority of your army, it was really mustered up in a hurry. My army from the north (Kart-Hadast and surrounding provinces) is much more balanced with adequate skirmishers, Elite African Infantry and Pikemen, and Sacred Band Cavalry.

Too bad you can't save the battle in campaign like in Medieval. I'd love to watch the carnage. I haven't seen that many losses since defending Mino province back in Shogun: Total War.
