    Default Well done FA

Sven has quit, he's doing the world cup and then he's going. All because of those *****FA officials They have delved into Sven's private life too much, they have humiliated him on numerous occasions and frankly, in my honest opinion, I think it's because He's not English...

So, Congratulations FA, you have just lost England their Best manager in ages!

Ericsson has finally been hounded out by the media. They've wanted rid of him since day one. Bloody journos.

combination of both I'm afraid, if you have both the media and the FA against you...you're up a certain creek without a paddle

He probably was their best manager for a long time. Although the embarrassment of my Country beating England sorta helped the media

Erm best manager lol your kidding right? We were beaten by Northen Ireland( no offence panther) which to be honest are a very poor team compared to England. Hopefully we will get Big Sam Aladyce in, i say good riddings to Sven. Hes not my type of manger, he one of the guys that doesnt get into the game while Sam Aladyce does he is very enthusiastic.

Sven stayed cool under everything the rest of the world threw at him, even a loss against northern ire. and it wasnt the manager that played an aweful game, it was the team, that match we had the right ideas, just not the talent, so dont go blaming it on sven.

And Sam Aladyce would be an aweful choice as enthusiastic is an overstatement He'd be sent off the pitch when the opposing team even got a wiff of a goal. Unlike sven who stayed calm and calculated their every move. The N I game was the fault of the players more than of the manager

Yeah, well he is Swedish, he's got a natural advantage, they make us English look like Italians. And staying cool when your team get spanked by a second rate side (sorry NI) isn't much of a qualification for the job IMHO.

Come off it chaps, Sven's been all right at best. Sam's the man. Sorry to any Bolton fans but the country's need is greater than yours etc...

Anyway, Sam can keep the seat warm for Psycho, now he's what I would call an England manager.

You can't have Sam. He's ours. He's on a contract until 2010 and I shall personally make sure that the FA would have to get a loan from the Glazers to buy him out of it. Now keep your southern mits off him.

Anyway McClaren is the man. Cos 'boro are shite. Should do well in the England job.

Sven has been our best manager for decades, it is a shame he is going.

And Big Sam?! What are you on EA? I used to think you had some sense ;)

Sam gets in over my dead body! There are many other European coaches with much better credentials.

INEZ: Prove it. Prove it was no dream. It's what one does, and nothing else, that shows the stuff one's made of.
GARCIN: I died too soon. I wasn't allowed time to - to do my deeds.
INEZ: One always dies too soon - or too late. And yet one's whole life is complete at that moment, with a line drawn neatly under it, ready for the summing up. You are - your life, and nothing else.

the encouraging news is that Guus Hiddink is up for the job...now he's got talent, a good work ethic, and probably is no fool when it comes to the media.

Anyway In all seriousness England are not as good as they think they are. That could be the major problem

Hoi, my bestest mates from Gillingham (his dad was a warrant officer II class) and he's a Wanderer so there is hope for you, my poor, southern brethren. My heart bleeds for you all.

As an outsider but silent admirer of the English team I have to say that Sven was certainly one of the better managers England has had as of late. He brought calm into the team (at times a little too much) and organised the team fairly well.

Now he was graced with above average players but no real superstar. England's prolem since time immemorial has always been that they tended to lose important matches. They are always good for a surprise but have never really counted as absolute favourites to win anything. There has always been some other team that has been put before them. Their enthusiasm is almost second to none but always runs out of steam in important moments. I really do hope that England will one day become a great side again. It's not all the manager although perhaps some fresh wind cannot harm.

I find is dispicable that the media is able to influence an authority's decision so much (in this case the FA) but that is just the way things go nowadays. England would have lost that match against NI with any other manager also. They were awful and I really felt for Sven. Maybe it was a good thing, though. They needed to get their arses kicked and brought back down to reality.

Good luck in the WC. I hope you will do well. I don't, however, believe you're one of the favourites no matter who your manager is. It's all in the quality of players. And that is there only in a limited sense. Let's see the lion rise again and fight with its bare teeth instead...

Call me old fashioned, I wanted him to leave. I want an Englishmen, or at least a Brit to manage us. Somebody with flare and personality, to get the nations hearts beating. Stuart Pearce, Sam Alladice, Martin O'Neill those types of guys.

Looks at Holland, their manager had never managed even a club team prior to current jobk, and Holland have actually managed get a good team. It's also been shown in Germany with Klinsman doing an ok job with such rubbish players (ok, his trans-atlantic comute is rediculous, but still). International managers can surround themselves with theorists and technitions so to speak, we just need somerbody to get the team to play with passion.

Sven had about as much passion as a tomato with no brain.

I fail to see the "glorious" achievements of Sven as England's coach. he's got quite a few of the best players in the world and hardly quilified. For the WC. He's a joke. Not the first one hired by the FA. At least one other name comes to mind...

I'd still drop him before the world cup. Somewhere deep down, all you English masochists know exactly what's going to happen next summer under Sven-Göon Eriksson: you will ungloriously lose on penalties in the quarter-finals.
Against a nine men opposition. Who were two goals down. Until the 85th minute.
    Or something like that.

The sleek Swede just doesn't cut it. He's too much of a gentleman. Too restrained, too good a tactician.
You don't impose some rocket-science tactical masterplan on players like Carragher, Gerrard, Terry and Rooney. You unleash them.
