moan, moan, moan!

What's with my people at the moment, I'm playing the XL mod as the Volga's, started in early on expert and it's now 1322.

My empire is large, all of the steps, finland, Norway, Hungary and Tripoli. Soon the east will all be under my control. But in the last couple of years my people have been getting restless.

One minute they are happy and I can have high tax, next they are on the verge of revolt. I'm a good ruler I build temples, farmland, BF and I have spies in every region with at least 1 star valor.

I'm starting to think that my lands are being targeted by my enemies agents on a massive scale!

Maybe you have failed to create a national identity, and have been living far to long off of the fat of the people you conquered

Looks like you have a Civil war ready to happen there friend, I cant think of a better ruler for that to happen to then a "great" one.

are you fighting a lot of battles with your king, or sending him overseas at all? both of these have immediate and sometimes 'hidden' effects on province loyalty...
what V&Vs does your king have?

Yes my King is a seven star General so he is off kicking the poles, his V&V's are good nothing to make him unpopular, what would you suggest doing?

Make him remember his royal duties in the bedroom and forget about his royal duties in the field.

Simply don't attack with your king when your empire has grown in size.

Well Mr. Odin I'll have you Know, that being such a great ruler I've set up a under five's finger painting class called 'I'm a little Volga and I live by the river' in which the kids paint using the colours of our national flag. How's that for creating national identity!

Thats great, you can use that at the rally when you address your remaining loyal soldiers as they go off to quell a rebellion !
