My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

I hope by "Indian Tribes" you mean a large number of various tribes.

The UK would be in it because they're in as British North America I would assume...although if the map is done a certain way they should be in control of some islands in the Caribbean. Though if those go in France and Spain would have to be there too...and to make them work properly you'd either have ton include western Europe, or use scripts to make armies appear and give them money to simulate support from home. An emerging faction CSA would be pretty cool as well.

Oh, so it is not about the Texan war of independence but about the USA expanding into the west.

Yes, the stealing of land from native tribes by the Americans was called "manifest destiny"...

So when's the mod getting off the ground dude?

Good idea, We need more American history mods at the org
may want to end around the 1850's so you don't get caught up in the civil war.
I suggest all of the US at that time and maybe parts of canada along with the rest of current day Western US along with northern mexico.
Did spain still have there land over in Cal. then?

Edit: Sorry if I went going abit overboard.

You have to get caught up in the Civil War to do this right.

Not really, the only effect the civil war had on the development and civilisation of the American west was that more men were unemployed so looked westward for work, basically at 1865 just increase the population in the american towns by ALOT.

It would actually be pretty cool to have the civil war. Then you could have a civil war, like in RTW, and you'd fight for the whole nation. Great idea, actually...

If you had the Confederacy emerge and then use the EB style scripted reforms...
    It could work
But you have to balance the depth that goes into the civil war its almost another mod. maybe an expansion like in NTW?

Maybe you could have the Senate being the US government in Washington and two factions being the north and south. They start out as allies, then after they expand enough they turn on each other.

That;s actually pretty much how it happened. The annexation of Texas was at the heart of the Civil War.

Despite its effect on westward expansion (which I think you underestimate a bit, hell have you read Sherman's post-war speechs?), it was sparked by westward expansion and sits squarely in the middle of the period of westward expansion and the theory Manifest Destiny.

You see, Anthony is a lazy ass, who doesn't know how to mod and never will learn. The mod's a good idea (first from him), but it will never get started with him as the leader...

    No offence Anthony...I love ya...

Thumbs up Re: Manifest Destiny:Total War (for BI)

I like this idea very much and I want to see this mod succeed. A very different idea for the mod community.

The map should be a bit bigger though.
