    Well the point is this....Wales

    as a pose to this....Whales

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Of all the examples held up of crass American consumerism and at the same time ignorance, this one takes the cake. There are a lot of criticisms I take offense to with regards to my nation and fellow citizens. Unfortunately, this just makes us look bad on several fronts, and is inexcusable. The only thing for which I can hope is that we determine the reason for the misspelling is that the toy was designed & manufactured overseas (such as Mexico or China) by someone with only a passing familiarity with the English language. I would hope that the majority of my countrymen, particularly captains of the toy industry, would know the difference between 'whales' and 'Wales', but sadly I'm afraid I would not make book on it.

    Don,

I fear that your countrymen do not realise that you must be immense to be any member of the royal family of whales. It's very sad.

    The spelling is not suprizing.

    For example.
The royal Welsh, regiment of the british army, has its own little berret hat pin,
    Compleate with Plumage.

I have one of these small Golden pins.
These things Have been isued by the Queen.

    and they say.
    The royal Welch

I know its pitifull. But you get used to it.
Wales is an english word Dont mean squat to me really.

Cos this country is not wales.
    its
    Cymru!

Ahem, the Regiment in question (the 23rd Regiment of Foot) is the Royal Welch Fusiliers (not a spelling mistake, it is supposed to be Welch with a -ch). The name simply is an archaic spelling of Welsh. The 23rd has retained the spelling since 1689 when it was formed
It was not theirs to reason why,
It was not theirs to make reply,
It was theirs but to do or die.

    Sick....And....Wrong
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...
