why Macs suck!

In a perfect world, where I had a lot of money, I would buy both a Mac and a PC. A Mac for video editing, designing things, and related junk, and PC for gaming, and umm... that's about it (but that's still very important to me mind you).

PCs are good for more in the home than just games mind you.
I have an XP box hooked to my TV that plays/records DVDs and Tivos all of my shows and I have another PC running linux that I use for a domain controller/web server/file server plus graphics editing. Both of those PCs run 24/7 and go for weeks without need of a reboot (much longer for the linux box).

Hehe, yeah- I think I was running it on what? A 450mhz pc?

180mhz PC here. Still ran AOE II pretty well, unless I had an 8 faction battle with max units late in the game. Darn, that was a good game.

It's easy to tell who have actually tried the mac, for other purposes than gaming, such as photo or video editing and who has not.

I've been forced to use it, for writing and other various tasks, for years. People who used it for more intensive editing than I cursed those wretched machines, in violent, perverted ways. And they cost way too much.

Oddly enough, the system requirements for CoD are higher on a mac than a PC.

Yah, I knew about the OS X hack, but I thought we weren't supposed to talk about such things in the Frontroom. Since that would involve, you know, um, borrowing software.

Well, I thought since you already have a Mac and hence possess OS X, you could just use the hack to load OS X onto your PC. Can't see what's wrong with that? (Except that Apple doesn't want you to.)

The hack-stuff is way over my techno-head but suffice it to say that any discussion of software piracy should be no discussion at all.

"Hack" may have been a bit exxagerated. A "hack" is primarily a way of
using software in a way that wasn't previously planned. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it's illegal. See for example the numerous firefox hacks and also Tosa referring to some minor (yet intelligent) alterations to the board software as "hacks". Apart from that I'm aware of the rules and don't intend to break them.

Blhe... I hate PC and Windows.... I absolutley HATE windows.

Only reason I dont have a mac is becouse of lack of games. Thats it, PC has no other use except gaming.
