I play MTW/VI with VikingHorde's XL mod installed. Guaranteed to keep me entertained for quite a while--at least til Medieval 2 comes out, probably even longer.

Where can I get the Xl mod for Medieval??
And what is this Mod Manager that I saw someone post about.
I am very interested.

I think it's one of the most popular MTW mods around, you'd do well to do give it a try.

I am now firmly fixed on my turn in a Seleucid (RTW, 1.5) PBeM. Very fun, my first try on the hard campaign difficulty (I usually play m/m), One town, Hatra, is getting sieged by the Armenians every turn lol, I almost have a full stack defending it.

Check out Chivalry total war, not tried it myself but supposedly it's primarily for mp.

We finished Greece and Alexander and started to learn about Rome on the history lessons. Therefore like a diligent schoolboy I've determined to be the most intelligent in these occasions, but because unfortunalety swotting doesn't belong to my favorites, I've installed RTW again. This fact won't be enough of course, but it will help a lot and at least I'll enjoy the history preparations... And on monday, I'm gonna make a great presentation about the structure and main events of the ancient roman army. :)

Run concurrent RTW and BI campaigns - currently playing Carthage and the ERE. Just finished playin the Britons (RTW) and the Saxons (BI).

I'll second that. I'm actually quite pleased with the news of MTW2 being almost a year away...gives me time to get the kind of computer worthy of playing that game :)

I figure a good 1500-2500 should get me what I'm looking for which shouldn't be any major problem for me by the summer. I can only imagine what full 10,000 men battles will look like on MTW2 with a high end gaming pc. /drool

I tend to run concurrent RTW and BI campaigns as well. Currently Seleucid and Alemanni. I mostly use factions that have onagers. A "little" artillery for my almost all infantry based armies. The only exception has been the Saxons (BI).

Vanilla MTW(and STW too). I have Viking Invasion too,but I won't install it until I get completely bored with original MTW.

I actually just installed RTR 6.0 Gold (newest) the other night and am just about to start up a campaign using it.

However, I switch around...sometimes vanilla 1.5, sometimes BI 1.6, and sometimes RTR.

I play all 3...however, and you can go to the bank on this, once RTR 7.0 using BI 1.6 comes out (not that much longer I hear...couple months) that's probably all I will play...that's the combination of all three, and right up my alley

Well, you'll never know until you try. And you could switch to Pro Evolution Soccer 5, it's lightyears ahead of FIFA.

lack of decent buildings and troops after the early stages makes the game boring. barb music also sounds worse imho

I've been playing Medieval XL and NTW recently specifically Venice/Piedmont.

I usually alternate between those campaigns and a VH/VH Pontus campaign. Usually when I get frustrated with one I play the other and vice versa.
