A helpful hint to those who haven't Beirut's Axe of Cleaving +3; just quote the person who's using a bunch of spam spoiler tags and you can see what they're hiding.
And I hope there are no such people in the real world, hiding out of sight of the sun, cursing the fairer sex, slowly retreating into darkness...

Ja Mata, Tosa.
The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder
You havn't visited too many gaming stores lately I take it then.
It really can be quite sad. One thing about Games Workshop that I will give them credit for is trying very hard to clean up that image of grungy dark hovels.
I'm afraid though that many gamers are social introverts except around their own kind. High IQ low EQ and very shy.
Playing games is THE social highlight for a few of them. For others it is just an alternative form of entertainment from nightclubbing, playing sports and partying with friends.
Most of them are really really intelligent nice guys.
I guess one would call that...an alternative lifestyle, but the one which is rather disdained by the mainstream society (and girls, as in the tapeOriginally Posted by Papewaio
). The key is not playing games, though, but an obsession with a hobby, whatever it is. Another popular image of this kind of "lifestyle" is the anime fandom. They were actually rather reviled by the Japanese mainstream public until recently, when the attitude begins to lax.
I am also of the opinion that EQ can be developed -- IQ, well, I don't have enough understanding of all the mechanics...
After all, really shy people can and do change, by experience. I was and am, by popular definition, introverted and intelligent, shy and silent. But that doesn't mean I necessary will be like this five years later, or that I was like this five years before. What those introverted, isolated individuals lack is an opportunity for diverse socializing and different tastes in life.
However, who are we to judge if they're happy or not? These people might be the happiest ones around, if they make it so.![]()
A new gamestore opened here recently, I've been there twice and twice there were girls in the store !Originally Posted by Papewaio
