Good point, when you are poor you don't have much else then family and religion.
It would be like someone keying your car in the parking lot because it has a christian symbol on it (fish/cross) in the west I suppose.
Our genes maybe in the basement but it does not stop us chosing our point of view from the top.

Look I disagree with what they are doing. But when you are not affluent there is not much left to cling to then faith. I think all the western papers should show solidarity and print the cartoons. I'm also trying to put it into a perspective that would be for a westerner.
How would you feel if someone used the internet to steal all your money or card fraud to use an ATM. A lot of the people in the middle east are poor by our standards, they have family and faith. So they hold these in higher esteem then westerners who have a lot more. That and an education that is such that makes them not ask in depth questions but instead to be obedient makes them very easy to be lead by the nose by any Iman who has a leg up both in scholarship and long range thinking.
